Light Knights Alliance

STO~DiplomacyAhoy there Star Trek Captains!

I am pleased to announce that our alliance with The Light Knights has been activated in Star Trek Online. They have been a good ally in Jumpgate Evolution for a long time, and both sides are pleased we can now use the alliance in a post-launch game.

In order to communicate easily, we have created a chatroom dedicated to this alliance ingame. I will start inviting online people into this chatroom this evening. Fleet Officers will get inviting priviliges as well.

By this means we hope that we can get some pvp groups going for now (both on the Klingon- and on the Federation side), and expand on that in the future.

Flaming Pie continued in live

Star TrekTonight the STO-servers went up for Early-Acces. A bunch of Pies were present, and were able to start our fleet.

Thanks to everyone involved! When you need an invite, just throw any member online a tell. They'll get you sorted. :)

Happily growing

Star TrekA few days into open beta we are not doing too shabby on our numbers I think. Especially when Xeex and his posse are invited in, I feel we'll be a healthy number and ready to grow further into launch.

Flaming Pie sails again!

Star TrekAs of this afternoon, Flaming Pie is an active guild/fleet again. With our group of 5 we managed to bully the Fleet Ambassador enough, and she allowed us to form our own posse.

Thanks to Zantium, LadyJustice, MacGyver and Alley for taking the time and help me out there.

By the way: We still have a couple of open beta keys to give away! Please let us know if you want one. First come, first serve. :)

Pre-order mania

Star TrekDeciding on a pre-order vendor for STO has been confusing. Cryptic released a very nice list of retailers and the goodies they provide here.

I personally am going to purchase the digital deluxe pre-order at Direct2Drive UK. Their version has a limited "Khan!" emote which I think is very nice. It won't come with the boxed goodies though.

Beta has started!

Star TrekStar Trek online entered Closed Beta last Thursday. Below their official announcement.

"We're happy to announce that we've entered Close Beta as of today, October 22!

If you've signed up, keep an eye on your email, as we'll periodically be inviting people to join in and share their feedback. Additionally, if you look to the right of the page, the "Closed Beta" application graphic will change to indicate you've been accepted, if you've in fact been accepted. (It'll read "ACCEPTED" in big, bold letters.)

If you haven't signed up yet, head on over to the preview application, create an account if you haven't and sign up!
"

Let's hope us Pies get in soon. :)

Congratulations Pas!

SocialSince you said it was common knoweledge now I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you with the birth of your boy. I hope you will enjoy his company for the rest of your life. The love you get from your child is the best thing in the world.

P.S. I won't allow him near my daughter, just so you know. :)

Guild Alterations

General NewsIt's no secret that I (Wolphard) have been very interested in STO ever since I heard it's beta could be closer than that of JGE. The creation of our STO division was the first step in this process, my resignation as Khan of of the JGE division is the second. This has not been an easy decision, but I feel each game/division deserves a leader with complete attention for that game. The search for a new Khan has not been a long one, as I felt we already had a perfect candidate within our ranks. So without further ado...

All hail Jazz as the new Khan!

For now he'll combine his work as Oathmaster and Khan, but when the game launches he'll decide whether or not to appoint a new Oathmaster.

I will start focussing on STO from now on, which does not mean I've lost all interest in JGE. I will indeed play the game in beta if we are admitted, but I'll play the game as a normal member.

This multi-gaming step has left us with a bit of a problem concerning our current hierarchy. The BattleTech system does not really function within a Starfleet hierarchy. This is why the council will become a JGE only body. In time we'll create a system for STO as well.

The global guild leadership will be a joint venture starting today. To stay in touch with our name I figured a Beatles reference might be appropriate. That's why Jazz and I will be known as "Fool on the hill". Íf we'll expand into other games in the future it's division leader will also receive this title.

I realise it might be a bit confusing, but I prefer this over abolishing the BattleTech system completely. :)

Branching out

JGE ~ CouncilAfter careful deliberation within the council, it's been decided that Flaming Pie will branch out into another game. Untill now we focussed solely on JGE, but that game has kept us waiting for a long time already and it seems the wait is far from over. Last weekend Cryptic opened the Star Trek Online beta-applications and promised it's fanbase that beta testing will start before the end of 2009. Ofcourse, we heard that before, but it has always been my personal goal to play STO. I expected STO to be the game I'd play áfter JGE but it seems I might play STO before JGE. It's funny how some things pan out.

Rest assured, JGE is still on the agenda. We'll have to see how this affects our hierarchy and structure, but those are worries for the future.

A new ally!

JGE ~ DiplomacyTime for me to pull my finger out. Last week already our Solrain Alliance was strengthened with the addition of a new squad, the Light Knights. They're a fun-loving bunch, friendly, mature, and to top it off they have their own arcade on their website. A very nice place to spend time indeed. So, incase you want to get to know them; please sign up on their website. Oh... and if you haven't already, also on the hub. :P

First Solrain Alliance Formed. Website Up!

JGE ~ DiplomacyFallenwild, DND and Flaming Pie Squadron formally announce their mutual support agreement.
